Museum of Graffiti

The world's first museum devoted to graffiti, tracing the art form from 1970s New York subways to Wynwood walls

Opened in 2019 on NW 25th Street, the Museum of Graffiti bills itself as the first institution dedicated entirely to the art form. It traces the lineage from the tagged subway cars of 1970s New York through to the curated murals that made Wynwood famous, with indoor galleries explaining the techniques, the typography, and the legal battles, plus a set of commissioned exterior walls.

It is a small museum and you can see it in under an hour, but it gives useful context to everything you will walk past outside. The gift shop is one of the better ones in the neighbourhood for prints and spray-can ephemera.
