Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary

Catty Shack Ranch is a non-profit sanctuary for big cats — lions, tigers, leopards, pumas, jaguars, and other large felines — that cannot be released into the wild because they were born in captivity or rescued from illegal ownership situations. It is not a zoo: the animals live in large enclosures and are not displayed for entertainment. The ranch offers guided tours that allow visitors to see the animals up close while learning about the individual histories of each resident.

The Friday and Saturday night feeding tours are particularly popular — the cats are most active and vocal at feeding time and the experience is notably more exciting than a standard daytime zoo visit. Advance booking is required. The sanctuary operates on donations and tour fees, with no government funding.
