Chamblin Bookmine is a vast used and rare bookshop occupying a former Winn-Dixie grocery store in downtown Jacksonville, with more than a million books in stock across a space that takes most of an afternoon to explore properly. The stock covers every subject, from recent paperback fiction to out-of-print academic texts, rare first editions, vinyl records, DVDs, comics, and maps. It is the kind of bookshop that sends you home with things you didn't know you needed.
A second, smaller Chamblin's exists in Avondale. The downtown store is the one to visit — it is genuinely enormous and the organisation is just chaotic enough to make browsing feel like exploration. The staff know the stock in detail and can locate specific books quickly. Prices are fair without being cheap.
