Magic Kingdom

Disney's flagship park with the iconic castle and classic rides

Magic Kingdom is the park most people picture when they think of Walt Disney World — Cinderella Castle at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., surrounded by six themed lands. It is the most visited theme park in the world by annual attendance, and it shows: queues form early and move slowly. Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are the rides most visitors prioritise; the latter routinely has the longest waits in the resort.

The park works best for families with young children, who respond strongly to the character meet-and-greets and the slower dark rides. Adults without kids tend to find it charming but thin; the other parks hold more for them. The nighttime fireworks show, Happily Ever After, is one of the best Disney spectaculars and worth timing your evening around regardless of who you are with.
