Orlando Science Center is one of the city's best non-theme-park family attractions. North of downtown in Loch Haven Park, it offers hands-on exhibits, live demonstrations, and enough indoor space to make it especially useful when heat, storms, or theme-park fatigue set in.
The museum is aimed largely at children and curious generalists, but adults will not feel punished for going. Pair it with the Orlando Museum of Art or the Mennello Museum nearby for a day that shows a more local, cultural side of Orlando.
