MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) runs rail and bus services across the city. The rail lines are useful for getting between the airport, downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead. Beyond those corridors, Atlanta is a car city and the sprawl makes buses impractical for most visitors. Rideshares are reliable and often faster than navigating MARTA's limited network. The BeltLine, a trail network converting old rail lines into walking and cycling paths, connects several neighbourhoods and is the best way to travel on foot between them.
