The Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory is one of the best sports-themed attractions in the United States. The tour takes you through the actual working factory where Louisville Slugger bats are still made for major-league players — you can watch them being turned on lathes, branded, and sorted. Every visitor gets a miniature bat to take home.
The museum section traces the history of baseball through the bat, with displays on how different players have used different specs over the decades and a collection of bats signed by legends from Ty Cobb to Ted Williams to Derek Jeter. The interactive elements are well-done without being gimmicky, and the tour guides tend to know their baseball. Plan about 90 minutes.
