Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum

Maine's two-foot-gauge railroads — narrower than almost anywhere else in the world — once linked the inland mill towns to the coast. This small museum on the Eastern Promenade preserves locomotives, passenger cars, and freight stock from the four 1880s-era lines, and runs short heritage trains along the harbour shore between May and October.

The ride itself is the main attraction — about three miles round trip along the water with good views of Casco Bay. Train fans will linger longer in the small museum hall.
