Sandhill Crane Vineyards is a family-run winery on Sandhill Road, planted on a low ridge above the Grand River. The tasting room pours a flight of mostly Michigan whites and fruit wines — a Niagara-grape semi-sweet, a dry Vidal Blanc, a Riesling — and the attached café serves a short lunch menu and a Sunday brunch.
The setting is genuinely pleasant: working barn, kitchen garden, vines visible from the patio. A good first stop on a circuit of the small wineries between Jackson and Lansing.
