Magers & Quinn is a large independent bookshop on Hennepin Avenue in Uptown, widely considered the best bookshop in the Twin Cities and one of the best in the upper Midwest. The shop carries new and used books on two floors, with a particularly strong selection in fiction, art, history, and Minnesotan and regional writing.
The shop runs an active events program, with author readings and signings several times per week. The used book section, covering the entire second floor, is deep and well-organised, with reasonably priced stock that turns over regularly. Parking on Hennepin is possible on weekdays; on weekends, side streets or the Lagoon garage nearby are easier.
