Fontenelle Forest

Fontenelle Forest is a National Natural Landmark south of Omaha, protecting 1,400 acres of wooded bluffs, wetlands, and Missouri River habitat. It is one of the best nature stops in the Omaha area, with walking trails and a raptor conservation facility.

The forest works well for a half-day outdoors: choose a trail, watch for birds, and allow time for the visitor facilities if they are open. Overnight camping and dogs are not allowed, which helps keep the reserve quiet.
