Sokol Auditorium

Historic South Omaha hall tied to Czech-American community life and decades of concerts.

Sokol Auditorium is one of South Omaha's old community landmarks, built around the Czech-American Sokol movement and later known to generations of locals as a concert and event hall. It is not polished tourism, but it says something real about Omaha's immigrant neighbourhoods and music history.

Check what is on before going; the building is most interesting when it is active. Even from the outside, it fits neatly with a South Omaha wander that includes older commercial streets, ethnic food, and the city's working-class history south of downtown.
