Hudson Hall occupies the 1855 Hudson Opera House building on Warren Street, a grand Italianate structure that went through many incarnations — opera house, vaudeville theatre, cinema, city hall — before being restored as a performing arts centre. The organisation presents a year-round programme of classical music, jazz, literary readings, contemporary performance, and community events. It also runs arts education programmes for Hudson school students. The restored interior, with its ornate plasterwork and original gallery, is worth seeing even if you only catch a matinee reading or a small recital.
