Doug's has been frying haddock, scallops and shrimp on Jordan Street since 1982 and is the most loved restaurant in town. The format is simple: order at the counter, grab a numbered ticket, find a table inside or out, and a basket of fried fish, hand-cut chips and coleslaw appears a few minutes later.
The fish is delivered fresh daily and fried to order, hence the lines that snake out the door on summer weekends. Don't skip the lobster bisque or, in season, the soft-shell crab sandwich. Cash and cards both accepted.
