A quiet, three-acre garden devoted exclusively to plants native to the southern Appalachians. Paths wind through rhododendron and mountain laurel thickets, a fern glade, a meadow, and a small reflecting pool. Spring brings ephemeral wildflowers — trillium, bloodroot, jack-in-the-pulpit — and in June the rhododendrons explode.
The garden adjoins the Hickory Ridge Homestead and the Horn in the West amphitheatre, which makes it easy to combine all three in one afternoon. Open seasonally; modest admission.
