The Coker Arboretum is a five-acre garden within the North Carolina Botanical Garden, tucked into the southeast corner of the UNC campus. It was established in 1903 by botany professor William Chambers Coker and contains a remarkable variety of woody plants — over 600 species — laid out along winding paths. Spring brings a succession of blooms that makes this one of the prettiest short walks in Chapel Hill. Free to visit at all times.
