North Carolina Botanical Garden

The North Carolina Botanical Garden is one of the largest natural-area botanical gardens in the Southeast, with over 1,000 acres of piedmont and coastal plain ecosystems. The visitor center and cultivated gardens near the entrance offer wildflower meadows, a carnivorous plant collection, and herb gardens. The surrounding forest trails wind through mature hardwood stands along creek bottoms. Admission to the garden is free; some special exhibitions charge a small fee.
