South Elm Street

South Elm Street is the most rewarding downtown walk in Greensboro. The street is lined with restored brick storefronts, old commercial buildings, galleries, bars, and some of the city's strongest historic stops.

Start near the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, then wander north or south as time allows. The farther north you go, the low historic fabric begins to give way to larger office buildings, which makes the older blocks feel more distinct.
