Dunn's Mountain Park rises from the countryside east of Salisbury and gives the area a short, satisfying outdoors stop. Trails climb through woods to overlooks, with views shaped by the old granite quarry landscape.
It is a local park, but a worthwhile one if you have a car and want a break from downtown historic houses. The walking is modest rather than strenuous, and the payoff is the contrast between Piedmont forest and exposed stone.
