Tulsa is a car city. Distances between attractions are manageable but not walkable without a car. Ride-sharing apps work well here and are widely used.
Tulsa Transit runs a city bus network but coverage is limited and frequency low outside peak hours. A downtown circulator called the Tulsa Streetcar ran until 2023, when it was suspended due to budget shortfalls.
The River Parks Trail along both banks of the Arkansas River is an excellent cycling and walking path, connecting Gathering Place on the south bank to the Crow Creek Trail system. Bicycles can be rented through the Tulsa Townie bike-share system at stations near Gathering Place, the Brady Arts District, and Cherry Street.
For downtown, Midtown (Cherry Street, Utica Square), and the River Parks area, staying in or near the urban core makes it feasible to rely mostly on walking and rideshare. Beyond that, a rental car is essentially required.
