Waite Phillips built this 72-room Italianate villa in 1927 with oil money, gave it to the city in 1938, and it has been Tulsa's premier art museum ever since. The collection runs from Italian Renaissance through Native American basketry to contemporary American painting. The 25 acres of formal gardens are worth the visit on their own.
