The Bayou is the city's serious beer bar — 250-plus bottles, with a deep selection of European imports and the best Belgian list in Utah. The Cajun-leaning kitchen does decent gumbo, jambalaya, and po-boys, but most regulars come for the beer.
The space is large, dim, and reliably comfortable, with pool tables in the back and a small stage for occasional jazz and blues. It is one of the few Salt Lake bars where you can sit at the bar without ordering food (most local bars require it under the state's liquor rules, but the Bayou has the right licence). Open daily until late.
