Capitol Street and the surrounding blocks downtown have the highest concentration of bars — a mix of long-running dive joints, a couple of craft-beer rooms, and the well-loved Taylor Books cafe-bookstore. The East End has a handful of neighbourhood bars on Quarrier and Washington. For local craft beer, Charleston Brewing Company and Bridge Road Bistro both pour West Virginia beers. The riverfront amphitheatre at Haddad Park hosts free summer concerts.
