Broadway District

Green Bay's main downtown entertainment and restaurant district, running along the Fox River

The Broadway District is the main dining, drinking, and entertainment strip in downtown Green Bay, a stretch of Broadway and the surrounding blocks near the Fox River. It holds most of the city's independent restaurants and bars, a few local shops, and the Weidner Center performing arts complex at the north end. The CityDeck riverfront boardwalk is directly accessible from the district, and the two together form Green Bay's most animated public space.

The district has grown significantly in the last decade as downtown Green Bay has attracted investment and population. It's still modest by big-city standards, but for a city of 107,000 it has real variety: Thai and Mexican alongside Wisconsin-German, craft cocktail bars alongside dive bars with Pabst on tap. Weekend nights are lively, particularly during Packers season, when the post-game crowds from Lambeau (the stadium is three miles away) eventually migrate downtown.
