Hogadon Basin Ski Area sits on Casper Mountain, close enough to town that skiing can be a half-day outing rather than a full resort trip. The hill is modest by Rocky Mountain standards, but it gives Casper a real winter-sports edge and fine views over central Wyoming.
In season, it is useful for local skiing, snowboarding, and a quick mountain escape. Outside the ski calendar, the surrounding mountain roads and trails still make the area worth knowing if you want to get above the plains.
