St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral

The seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cheyenne is a 1909 Gothic Revival church of pink sandstone with twin tall west towers — the most prominent church building on the downtown skyline. The architect, Adolphus Druiding, also designed a string of Catholic churches across the German-American Midwest, and the Cheyenne cathedral is one of his last and largest.

The interior has a vaulted plaster ceiling, German-Munich-made stained glass dating from the 1910s, and a recently restored marble high altar. Open daily for visits between services; modest dress preferred. Free.
