Estádio Olímpico Pedro Ludovico

The Estádio Olímpico Pedro Ludovico is Goiânia's main football stadium, home to Atlético Goianiense and the scene of many of the city's most passionate public gatherings. The stadium holds around 13,000 spectators and has a covered stand that makes attending a match a good deal more comfortable than the open-air grounds common across Brazil.

Football in Goiânia carries a genuine local intensity. The city has two clubs — Atlético Goianiense (Vila Nova's rival) — and matches between them are fiercely contested. If you are in Goiânia during a match weekend, attending a game is one of the best ways to see the city at its most itself. Check the fixture list online before arriving; matches are announced with little advance notice.
