Parque Areião is one of Goiânia's useful green pauses, a protected pocket of Cerrado vegetation between the Pedro Ludovico, Marista, Sul, and Areião districts. It has shaded paths, exercise areas, a small lake, and patches of native vegetation around the springs that feed the Córrego Areião.
This is not the city's grandest park, but it earns its place if you are staying nearby or want to see how Goiânia's planned avenues soften into neighbourhood parkland. Go in the morning or late afternoon, when walkers are out and the heat is lower, and treat it as a relaxed local counterpoint to the showier civic squares and markets.
