A long sweep of clean sand about ten kilometres north of Porto Seguro, much calmer than the noisier barraca beaches closer to town. Coconut palms back the beach, a few low-key barracas sell grilled fish and cold beer, and at low tide a wide expanse of flat sand opens out for walking. The water is warm year-round and the surf is gentle — good for families and for swimming.
The village of Mundaí itself is small and mostly residential, with a couple of pousadas and simple seafood restaurants. The coastal road runs behind the beach; local buses from Porto Seguro stop here on the way north toward Santa Cruz Cabrália. A quiet alternative to Taperapuan.
