Praia de Naufragados

Remote southern Florianopolis beach reached by trail or boat, with surf, forest, and old fort views.

Praia de Naufragados sits at the far southern end of Santa Catarina Island, where Florianopolis starts to feel less like a beach city and more like Atlantic forest dropping into the sea. There is no road down to the sand; most visitors walk the forest trail from Caieira da Barra do Sul, with the option of returning by small boat if the sea and local operators cooperate.

The reward is a wide, undeveloped beach with stronger surf, green hills, and a proper edge-of-the-island mood. Bring water, sun protection, and enough time for the walk back, and do not treat it like an urban beach with services waiting every few metres.
