Paranaguá's historic centre is compact and walkable, a slow afternoon's tour of colonial churches, the old waterfront and the Jesuit college turned museum. The real adventure is just offshore: the boat to Ilha do Mel runs from a terminal in town, and the bay is dotted with mangrove islands you can reach with a local fisherman.
