Mercado Artesanal is Guayaquil's easiest place to browse Ecuadorian crafts without leaving the centre. Stalls sell textiles, leather goods, carved objects, jewellery, hats, and the usual souvenir mix, with enough variety to make it useful even if you are only comparing prices before travelling elsewhere in the country.
It is a shopping stop rather than a cultural monument, but it earns its place because Guayaquil can otherwise feel short on compact, traveler-friendly market browsing. Go with small bills, bargain politely, and combine it with the nearby riverfront or museums rather than crossing town only for the market.
