Guayaquil's main sights cluster around the riverfront and the historic Barrio Las Peñas. The Malecón 2000 promenade is the obvious starting point — walk it from one end to the other and you will pass the city's key monuments, museums, and viewpoints. Santa Ana Hill at the northern end and the iguana-filled Parque Bolívar near the cathedral are the highlights of a day in the city centre.
