Cap Falcon

Cap Falcon is a low rocky cape about 25 km west of Oran, marking the boundary of the bay. The beaches here — sheltered coves backed by sandstone cliffs — are quieter than the closer-in city beaches and the water is much cleaner. The cape itself has a small lighthouse and an Ottoman-era watchtower; both are derelict but the views are worth the short walk.

In summer the cap is a busy day-trip destination from Oran. Out of season it is almost deserted. Bus services run from central Oran via the suburb of Ain el-Turck; better in your own car or by taxi.
