Les Andalouses

Les Andalouses is a 4-kilometre crescent of pale sand about 35 km west of Oran — the longest and probably the most attractive of the city's beaches. Backed by a small holiday resort with hotels, restaurants, and rented apartments, it fills up in July and August with Algerian families on summer break.

The water shelves gently and is safe for children; lifeguards patrol the main stretch in season. The name commemorates the Andalusian Muslims who settled along this coast after the Reconquista in the 16th century. About an hour by road from central Oran.
