Oran's beach strip runs west along the coast from the city centre, past the suburb of Ain el-Turck and on to Les Andalouses. The water is cleanest at the western end; the closer-in beaches are crowded in July and August. Cap Blanc, 30 km out, is the most upmarket — rocky coves rather than sand, fewer crowds. Cap Falcon and Madagh complete the line of summer destinations west of the city.
