Getting Around

Central Limbe is small enough to walk — the waterfront, the market, the Wildlife Centre, and the Botanic Garden are all within reasonable distance of each other on foot. The town has no formal public transport system.

Moto-taxis (motorcycle taxis, locally called bensikins) are the standard way to cover ground quickly or reach places outside the centre. Agree on the fare before getting on; short trips within town are inexpensive. Regular taxis are also available, particularly for the run out to Mile Six beach, which is a few kilometres from the town centre and an awkward distance to walk in the heat.

If you plan to visit Buea for Mount Cameroon, shared taxis run the route regularly and take around 30 minutes. The same applies for the return journey to Douala.
