Sharks Bay, about 8 km north of Naama Bay, is the alternative for visitors who want the dive scene without the Naama nightlife. The bay itself is small, with a sandy beach and a fringing reef that drops off straight from the shore — the so-called "house reef" of the Sharks Bay area has been used by training divers for decades and is genuinely one of the better easy reefs in the region.
The area's centrepiece is the Camel Dive Club's original camp, expanded over the years into a low-rise hotel that still feels like the dive operation it began as. A handful of restaurants and a relaxed beach bar round out the offering. There are no clubs, no fireworks, and no dancing fountains; if you want any of those, take a taxi to Naama.
