Sharm's position on the Red Sea makes it one of the world's premier destinations for diving and snorkelling, but there is plenty to do on land too — from jeep safaris through the Sinai desert to camel rides with Bedouin guides. The reefs around the city are exceptional, the surrounding mountains and canyons are unlike anything else in Egypt, and a string of historic and natural sites lies within a half-day drive.
