Abuko Nature Reserve is one of The Gambia's classic wildlife stops, a compact protected area near Lamin with forest trails, monkeys, crocodiles, reptiles, and abundant birdlife. Its small size makes it easy to visit in a morning while still offering a strong introduction to the country's habitats.
Go early for cooler temperatures and better wildlife activity. It is most often visited as a day trip from the coastal resorts or Banjul area.
