About 30 km west of central Accra on the Cape Coast road, Kokrobite is the city's weekend escape: a long stretch of sand backed by palms, a couple of low-key beach guesthouses, and the Academy of African Music and Art (AAMA), where Saturday-night drumming and dance shows pull in a crowd. The water is cleaner than at Labadi but still has a strong rip; swim with care.
