Banco Park

Tropical rainforest reserve on the edge of the city

On the outskirts of town, Banco National Park preserves 3,000 hectares of tropical rainforest — a remarkable pocket of green in one of West Africa's biggest cities. The park has picnic areas, a restaurant, and an arboretum where labels identify the different varieties of trees. Walking trails wind through the forest, and you may spot monkeys and tropical birds. It is a welcome escape from the heat and noise of Abidjan.
