Getting Around

Central Nakuru is small enough to walk across in twenty minutes — most shops, banks, cafes, and the matatu stage are within a few blocks of Kenyatta Avenue. For anything further afield, taxis and tuk-tuks are cheap and easy to flag down, and shared matatus run out to the suburbs and the surrounding villages. To reach Lake Nakuru National Park, the Menengai Crater rim, or Hyrax Hill, the simplest option is to hire a taxi for half a day; safari operators in town will also put together park tours including a vehicle and driver.
