Nakuru's headline attractions are all within easy reach of the town centre. Lake Nakuru National Park sits right on the southern edge of the city, with rhinos, giraffes, and a flamingo-rimmed soda lake that draws birdwatchers from around the world. To the north, Menengai Crater offers one of the great views in Kenya, and Hyrax Hill preserves a Neolithic settlement on a small ridge just outside town. A day or two is enough to see the highlights.
