The Church of the Immaculate Conception is Tangier's main Catholic church, built by the Spanish community in the 1870s. Its architecture and role in the city reflect Tangier's long international period, when Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities lived close together around the medina and port.
It is a quiet stop rather than a major monument, but worth noticing while walking between the Petit Socco, Grand Socco, and the old European quarters.
