Tangier has a Mediterranean climate softened by the Atlantic. Summers are warm and dry, with temperatures reaching around 28C in July and August. That is also peak tourist season, so expect crowds. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the sweet spot: pleasant temperatures, fewer visitors, and the city at its most relaxed.
Winters are mild but wet, with temperatures rarely dropping below 8C. It can feel chilly when the wind blows off the strait, but Tangier never truly shuts down.
The Tanjazz festival in May or June brings international jazz musicians to venues across the city and is worth timing a visit around. The Amazigh Festival in August celebrates Berber culture with poetry readings, theatre, art, and concerts.
