Tangier's cafe culture runs deep. The literary expats of the 1950s and 60s may be gone, but many of their haunts survive, and the habit of sitting for hours over mint tea or a cold Flag beer has not changed. Most of the best spots are in the medina or along Boulevard Pasteur. Alcohol is served at hotel bars and some standalone venues, but many of the most atmospheric cafes are dry.
