A small, fiercely traditional fish-only restaurant tucked into Escalier Waller, the stepped lane connecting the Grand Socco to the medina. There is no menu — Chef Mohamed Belhadj serves a four-course fixed feast that changes daily based on what came off the boats that morning: bread, soup, grilled and stewed fish, tagines, and the famous house infusion of fifteen herbs from the Rif mountains.
The dining room is rustic and shared, the walls are crammed with photographs and curios from forty years of operation, and the price is fixed (around 250 dirhams per person, cash only, no alcohol). The experience is a Tangier rite of passage and reservations are recommended. Closed Fridays.
Address: 2 Escalier Waller, Tangier.
