Coconuts Live is Maputo's best-known nightspot, a sprawling open-air venue on the Avenida Marginal that combines a restaurant, several bars, two dance floors and a regular live-music stage. The crowd is mostly Mozambican, in their twenties and thirties, well-dressed and out to dance.
Music is usually a mix of pandza, kuduro, marrabenta, Brazilian and house, depending on the night. Weekends fill up after midnight. Cover charge is modest; drinks are mid-priced. The venue stays open until dawn at weekends. It is one of the few places in the city where it is reliably easy to find a Bolt back at 4 am.
