National Theatre

The National Theatre at Iganmu was built in 1977 as the main venue for the Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture. Its bold modernist form makes it one of Lagos's most recognizable cultural buildings.

The complex includes a large auditorium, conference hall, cinema spaces and visitor facilities. Even when you are not attending a performance, the building is worth seeing for its place in Nigeria's post-independence cultural history.
